It's not about guns, and it never has been. It's about control -- people control. Our federal Liberal government is leading the charge on the international ban of small arms. If you think this doesn't affect all Canadians and their historical right to own firearms, you'd better think again. The Poster Project came about through discussions on the Cdn-Firearms-Chat email list. We talked about the problems we faced in getting the word out to the average citizen on the Firearms Act and it's ramifications for EVERYONE in the country, not just firearms owners. As a result, a few of us decided to start creating posters that can be printed on any printer, and distributed throughout your neighbourhood, city, town, whatever. The idea is to take the most draconian aspects of this legislation and put it into terms people can not only understand, but see the relationship to their own lives. In that regard, those of us with Adobe Acrobat create posters from our own ideas, and the ideas submitted by others. Every poster created can be downloaded from this site, and printed on your laser or inkjet printer, then photocopied for distribution. These posters must be tacked onto bulletin boards, telephone poles, anywhere that the average Canadian can and will read them. All posters are short and to the point, taking a single aspect of this legislation and putting it into terms the average Canadian can see. The more we can get the average Canadian to see how this legislation affects them, the more public opinion we will have on our side.
