TDssDBLUCombo Component for Delphi

The TDssDBLUCombo adds to the functionality of the TDBLookupCombo. The user should be acquainted with the original Delphi control as this help file focuses on the enhancements to the original component.

Some of the new capabilities added to DssDBLUCombo include;

Sorted drop down list.
Incremental searches of the drop down list as the user types.
Auto-fill-in of untyped text as the user types.
Automatic colour change when the control has focus.
Tab key functionality support added for the Enter key.

TDssDBLookupCombo is a descendant of the original Delphi control TDBLookupCombo. This control's list values are also taken from a lookup table. However, the ability to sort incrementally search the list is new. As the user types the highlight in the list moves to the closest match in the list. As the user types the highlight in the list moves to the closest match in the list. The major advantage of this approach is that the number of keystrokes required to fill the field with the correct data is substantially reduced and accuracy is improved.

TDssDBLookupCombo allows you to sort the lookup table on a different key then the actual lookup. For the period of time that the list is visible, the list is in LookupIndex order.

Two new properties have been added, ColorOnFocus and ColorOffFocus. By default, when this control gains focus, the background colour changes to clAqua. When this control loses focus, the background colour changes to clWindow. This allows the user to quickly and easily know which control has focus.

Also added to this control support for using the Enter key as the Tab key, moving focus to the next control in the Tab order.
