The Working Writer is an information and document management system for freelance writers. It is the first comprehensive system for tracking the business of freelance writing from query letter to paycheck.

Writing is the easy part. The hard part is marketing what you write.

That you are taking a look at this type of software says that you are serious about your writing craft. It also says you understand that your success as a writer depends upon tracking the information you send out.

The publishing industry is not like other industries. A manuscript you submit today may not be purchased for six months, and then not published for months after that. And you probably won't get paid until even later.

Keeping track of which manuscript has to be completed and when, which query letter responses or submission responses are overdue simply cannot be done in your head.

This software is designed to help you, the writer, stay on top of all the information you deal with on a daily basis. The system is comprised of modules that address each phase of the writing cycle. Each module interacts with the others. The reports module takes all of this information and generates reports detailing different aspects of your writing career.
